Lexy B Strong Car and Bike Show
Benefit

Lexy Boyer is a Lincoln local.
In August 2025, she was diagnosed with Medulloblastoma.
Medulloblastoma is an aggressive, cancerous brain tumor. It starts
in the cerebellum, which is located in the lower back of the head.
It is known to spread to other parts of the brain or even the spinal
cord.
Since August of last year, Boyer and her family have been fighting
this battle and winning. It started with a surgery the same month
Boyer was diagnosed. The surgery was successful in removing the
entirety of the tumor. Boyer then underwent chemotherapy and
radiation therapy which left her very weak and unable to walk.
This weakness of body was not a weakness of mind or spirit, however.
At the end of last school year, Boyer graduated from Lincoln
Community High School and took part in the ceremony. She was in a
cosmetology program, but that had to be put on hold while she fought
her battle. The chemotherapy is expected to be over at the end of
October this year.
Boyer’s grandfather, Jim Loeffler,
wanted to put something special together in addition to a benefit to
help his granddaughter pay for her medical bills. Being a member of
the Railsplitter Antique Auto Club, Loeffler decided that a car and
bike show would be the perfect thing to help bring people together
and raise money. Boyer’s grandmothers, Diana Loeffler and Dawn
Moore, shared that any money left over after paying for medical
bills will all go toward their granddaughter's education.
There were dozens of cars present
and nearly twenty motor cycles at the American Legion parking lot.
The event started at 1:00 p.m., but cars were arriving early to get
set up. Vehicles ranged from newer models to older classics. There
were hot rods and trucks. Some were more mild in color, and others
were bright blues, purples, reds, and more.
The rain managed to mostly stay in the sky despite the clouds and a
few drops every now and again. A speaker was set up playing music
and people were enjoying good conversation. A table was set up near
the speaker where the event was being run. Someone would
occasionally get on the microphone and share some information.
People were able to purchase 50/50 raffle tickets and cast votes on
their favorite car and/or motorcycle. Door prizes were handed out
from the table too. At 4 p.m., once the car and motorcycle portion
of the event was over, trophies were handed out to the winners from
this table too.

Boyer came out from the interior of
the American Legion to hand out the trophies to the winners.
First, Boyer handed out trophies to
the winning motorcycle owners, followed by a “Lexy’s Choice” award,
which was the biggest trophy. The same was done with the cars.
Following the trophies, Diana
Loeffler announced the winner of the 50/50 raffle. The winner was to
receive $143, with the other half of the money going to Lexy. In a
twist that the audience loudly applauded for, Boyer was the winner
of the raffle, taking all of the money home.
After the trophies and raffles, Diana Loeffler announced that the
benefit would continue inside the American Legion. People could get
food, which included a pulled pork sandwich, sides, a beverage, and
a cookie. There was more music inside, with kids dancing and playing
on the dance floor. The benefit had silent auction items set up as
well. There were dozens of items, ranging from tools to various
types of baskets. The benefit continued well into the evening,
ending at 10 p.m.
When asked what it means to her that the community would rally
around in support of her like this, Boyer stated that it “shows
there’s still good in the world.” If you or someone you know would
like to donate to Boyer but were not able to make it to the benefit,
the family does have a
Venmo set up for donations. The Venmo username is “lexybstrong”
with all proceeds going toward Boyer’s medical bills and education.
