Lincoln's Locker to showcase work
training program
LEAD hosts an Open House to learn more
[May 08, 2025]
LINCOLN, IL – Lincoln Economic
Advancement & Development, Inc. (LEAD) is thrilled to partner with
Lincoln’s Locker to host an Open House at Lincoln Community High
School from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Monday, May 19, 2025.
Local employers are encouraged to attend to learn about how the
skills these students are learning at school are being applied at
businesses throughout Lincoln. Participants will see the program’s
heat press in action, tour Lincoln’s Locker’s retail space (where
they can stock up on new Railer gear), and sample chocolate chip
cookies made by students in the program.
Lincoln’s Locker allows students in the Work Training Program to
learn work skills through producing branded merchandise, baking
cookies for sale, and operating a retail store. Additionally, these
students participate in work-study opportunities at Lincoln
businesses. While students get varied experience in these jobs, more
positions are needed. At the Open House event, employers will see
first-hand the skills that students are learning and how businesses
can get involved by hosting a student in Fall 2025.
