Vote by mail postcard applications
[August 25, 2026]
On Friday, August 14, 2026, our
office began mailing vote by mail postcard applications to the
voters of Logan County. Our office is required to notify you of the
opportunity to request a vote by mail ballot in accordance with
Illinois State Statute (10 ILCS 5/19-2.0, 5/19-2.5, 5/19.3).
There are three options this postcard gives you as a voter. These
options are:
1. Single Election Vote by Mail Application
• This choice gives you the opportunity to request a vote by mail
ballot for the November 3, 2026, election only.
2. Permanent Vote by Mail Status
• This choice gives you the opportunity to apply to be placed on
permanent vote by mail status and receive a ballot for all future
elections.
• You can choose to vote by mail in all subsequent elections that do
NOT require a party declaration, or you can choose to vote by mail
in ALL subsequent elections and select your party.
Please note: If you already have a permanent vote by mail
status, you were not mailed a vote by mail postcard application. To
confirm your permanent vote by mail status, please contact our
office.
3. Opt Out of Vote by Mail postcard application mailings
• This choice gives you the opportunity to remove yourself from
future vote by mail postcard mailings.
Please verify the information on the postcard is your correct
information before completing the postcard. If any of the choices
listed above are choices you would like to make, please check the
appropriate box and complete the postcard. Once you have completed
and signed the postcard, it must be returned to the Logan County
Clerk and Recorder’s office to be processed.

If you have received a postcard
with information that is incorrect or the postcard is for another
voter that does not reside at the listed address, please contact the
Logan County Clerk and Recorder’s office.
The first day our office can begin mailing vote by mail ballots is
Thursday, September 24, 2026, and the last day our office can
receive vote by mail applications is Thursday, October 29, 2026. All
Logan County registered voters have the option to vote by mail,
early vote in the Clerk’s office, or vote at their polling place on
Election Day.
Early voting dates are posted in our office, on our website, and
online. As your local Election Authority, please contact our office
if you have any questions regarding the election process.
