Nourish Logan County announces event to benefit food pantries in Lincoln

[February 11, 2026]  NOURISH LOGAN COUNTY, an affiliation of churches, organizations and businesses working together to address food needs and access in Logan County, will host popular singer CHRIS VALLILLO on February 22 at Spirited Republic, 509B Pulaski Street, Lincoln. The performance is free, and The Buttery will offer food items for purchase beginning at 2:00pm. The performance will begin at 3:00pm. Monetary donations to Nourish Logan County will be accepted through cash, check or Venmo and will go toward supporting food pantries in Logan County.

Chris Vallillo is a singer/songwriter and roots musician who celebrates the people and places of rural America in song. Having spent the last 30 years in the Midwest, he has a natural affinity for American roots music. A master of finger style and bottleneck slide guitar, Vallillo weaves original, contemporary, and traditional songs and narratives into a compelling and entertaining portrait of farming history and lifestyles, highlighting the hardworking people who are the backbone of rural America. The performance is sponsored by Heartland Bank & Trust and LMH, Lincoln Memorial Hospital.

Nourish Logan County was started in 2025 to expand existing resources for local food pantries. It builds on efforts already underway at many organizations, operating on the belief that we can do even more through collaboration—not by replacing the good work of local organizations, but by adding to it through focused activities throughout the year that involve a variety of partners. In November, Nourish Logan County held a food drive, raffle and a week of special events, collecting hundreds of pounds of food and raising over $1,000 for each of five Lincoln food pantries: Lincoln Logan County Food Pantry, Jefferson Street Christian Church Food Pantry, The Oasis Food Pantry, Holy Family Food Pantry, and The Salvation Army Food Pantry. In the future, Nourish Logan County expects to expand its reach into other county locations, as well as to support a number of micro-pantries.
