Snow route parking bans to go in effect Saturday, January 24 at 6 p.m.

[January 24, 2026]  Snow route parking bans will go into effect at 6:00 PM Saturday, January 24, 2026 in the City of Lincoln. The Lincoln Street Department asks that citizens obey all parking regulations including the no parking in the downtown area between the hours of 2:00 AM and 5:00 AM. The Department also requests that citizens utilize off street parking in all other areas if at all possible. This will help expedite snow removal operations and allow crews to plow curb to curb and get through the narrower streets and the streets with boulevards. On street parking will be prohibited on the following streets…

• Lincoln Ave. from College Ave. to N. Union St.

• Park Place from N. Union to N. Elm St.

• Northside of Pulaski St. between S. Ladue and S. Sherman.

• Southgate from N. Kickapoo to Bond St.

• Wyatt Ave. from Railer Way to S. McLean St

Crews will begin plowing early morning on Sunday, at a time to be determined, if forecasts are accurate. The parking ban will be in effect until the streets are cleared.

Parking may resume once accumulating snow has stopped and plows have cleared street curb to curb.

If there are any questions or concerns, contact Street Superintendent Walt Landers at 217-732-4655.
