LEAD announces resignation of CEO Andrea Runge

[March 31, 2026]  Lincoln, IL — The Lincoln Economic Advancement & Development (LEAD) Board of Directors today announced that Chief Executive Officer Andrea Runge has submitted her resignation, effective March 31, 2026. Runge has accepted a position that will allow her to further her impact on the development of rural economies.

Runge has served as CEO for the past five years, during which time she led transformative efforts focused on sustainable economic development, community engagement, and regional collaboration. Her tenure has been marked by key initiatives including the advancement of redevelopment plans for the Lincoln Developmental Center, support for workforce pathways, and the creation of new opportunities for local entrepreneurs and residents.

“On behalf of the Board of Directors, we extend our deepest gratitude to Andrea for her visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to LEAD and the Lincoln community,” said Dolan Dalpoas, Chair of the LEAD Board. “Andrea has helped reshape how we think about economic development by focusing on the strengths and potential within our community. Her impact will be felt for years to come.”

In her resignation letter, Runge reflected on her time at LEAD and expressed appreciation for the partnerships and progress achieved during her tenure. "LEAD has given me something rare: the chance to pursue my purpose at the highest level. For that, I will carry a deep and lasting gratitude toward the Board of Directors and the Lincoln community — for your faith, your courage, and your willingness to leap forward, together, toward something new, authentic, and enduring. The LEAD Board of Directors will begin a search for a new Chief Executive Officer in the very near future. Additional details regarding the transition and interim leadership, if applicable, will be shared as they become available.
