The 4th annual Lake Fork Tractor
Show raises funds for Community Center
[May 29, 2025]
The 4th annual Lake Fork
Tractor Show was held at the Lake Fork Community Center on Saturday,
May 24th. The event was organized by Brian Johnson, Crystal Kern,
and Jennifer Riedle. There were almost two dozen tractors lined up
in the grass behind the Community Center. Dozens of people were in
attendance. While the weather was a bit cloudy at the 10 a.m. start,
the sun was out by the time noon rolled around.

In addition to the tractors, there
was live music played by musicians Scott Faith and Lee Holmes. Faith
and Holmes were set up under a canopy and their music provided a
calm ambiance to the day.

Kern and Riedle were serving free
food to anyone who wanted some. The menu included a pork BBQ
sandwich, chips, water or lemonade, and a dessert. The dessert menu
was quite extensive, with several types of pie, cakes, cookies, and
even a cinnamon roll on offer. While the food was free, donations
were being collected for the Lake Fork Community Center.

Addy Hawkins, Jacey Black, and
Layla Casas were also set up at a table selling plants for Clinton
FFA. The ladies were selling several types of pepper plants, herbs,
tomato plants, and spider plants. Black stated that this is the
first time they were set up at Lake Fork, but that they host their
own annual plant sales in the greenhouse at Clinton High School.

The Lake Fork Tractor Show first came about out of Kern and her
friend’s desire to do something for the community. Johnson and
several of his family members enjoy going to tractor shows and
restoring old tractors. He suggested the idea of a community
tractor show to Kern, and she agreed. The first one was held on
Memorial Day, and they took off from there. Now, people from all
over Logan County bring their tractors to the show.
Each year, the Lake Fork Tractor Show raises money for a local
organization. While this year they were raising for the
Community Center, they have raised money for three other
organizations in the past. These past organizations included the
Boy Scouts, Lathan Fire and Rescue, and Mt. Pulaski FFA.
Those in attendance enjoyed good food, music, and conversation,
as well as the tractors, of course. Johnson, Kern, and Riedle
stated that, while they do not yet have specific plans for next
year quite yet, they do plan on being back for their 5th annual
show.
