Vittles Noir: Fur and Shadows book
launch to be held at Ink & Imprint Books in Lincoln
[August 10, 2026]
Independent creator Gabriel Whitney
is proud to announce Vittles Noir: Fur and Shadows, a hardcover
comic will be available via Lincoln’s very own locally owned and
operated bookstore, Ink & Imprint. The bookstore will be the first
place the book is available since the pre-order campaign earlier
this year which raised a respectable $3,665 in pre-order sales.
The event is appropriate for all-ages, with families and animal
lovers being encouraged to attend. The book launch will feature a
short reading by Gabriel Whitney from the comic. There will be a
meet-and-greet, and everyone can get their copies signed. Last, but
certainly not least, a limited-edition print will be available that
features the book’s feline protagonist, Vittles, in front of the Ink
& Imprint storefront. The print was created specifically for this
event and will not be available outside of Ink & Imprint.
The Book:
Vittles Noir: Fur and Shadows features Vittles, a Purrivate
Investicat, who investigates five separate cases. The stories vary
in length, with The Case of the Missing Poop being the standout
storyline and involving a rather elaborate plotline. Each case is
playful and humorous in tone, despite the noir aesthetic and is
perfect for readers who love cats or the classic Calvin & Hobbes
comic strip. Fur and Shadows delivers a standalone reading
experience in a beautifully produced hardcover format. The entire
book stands at just over 150 pages.
Gabriel Whitney personally brought each page, panel and story to
life from his own vivid imagination, making this comic a unique
addition to the all-ages comic market. The result is a deeply
personal and unified work that showcases the creator’s distinctive
voice and artistic vision which reflects years of experience in the
Indie comic scene.
