Letters to the Editor

Lincoln Daily News welcomes letters of appreciation, information and opinion on matters pertaining to the community.

Controversial issues:
As a community we need to be able to talk openly about matters that affect the quality of our lives. The most effective and least offensive manner to get your point across is to stick to the issue and refrain from commenting on another person's opinion. Letters that deviate from focusing on the issue may be rejected or edited and marked as such.

Praise for CREW at Open Arms

To the Editor:

We would like to publicly Praise CREW (Christians, Ready, Equipped, Willing) at Open Arms.

Although Open Arms is not our home church, they have accepted our son with open arms every Wednesday night for the past five years. As he approaches the age limit for the program, we would like to express our appreciation to the church, especially the volunteers who generously sacrifice their time each week to be there for the children.

Over the past five years, our son has always looked forward to Wednesday nights. Through this program he has learned how not only to become a good Christian but also how to grow into a better young adult. He has made memories and formed friendships that we believe will last a lifetime.

We encourage other parents to enroll their children into this program. Open Arms also offers a program for girls on the same evenings at the same time. This experience has benefited our son in more ways than we can express in this letter. We know he feels the same way and will cherish the time he spent surrounded by such a positive group of people.
As parents, we sincerely thank everyone involved for their kindness and commitment to making this program possible week in and week out.

Sincerely,
The Lerchers
