At the Tuesday night Committee of the Whole meeting of the Lincoln City Council, Lincoln Director of Tourism Scott McCoy introduced a proposed sign for the new Route 66 Museum on Broadway Street.

He explained he had worked with local artist Scott Lindley in developing the concept. The picture shown depicts a daylight view of the sign which will hang out over the sidewalk and be highly visible from the street from both directions. An additional night view was provided where McCoy explained the sign would have rope LED lighting that mimics neon.

The sign will cost approximately $25,000 but is covered by grant funding received by the department of tourism.
