For many folks in Logan County the
annual Boy Scout BBQ is an event they look forward to starting weeks
ahead of the big day. So, it’s great to be able to announce that
this weekend that big day is finally going to arrive. The annual BBQ
fundraiser is this Sunday, March 15th with proceeds benefiting
Lincoln Scout Troop 1102.
Guests can expect the same great food they enjoy every year with a
dine-in or carry out option. There is one BIG difference. This year
the meal will be hosted at the Oasis Senior Center at 2810 Woodlawn
Road in Lincoln.
Wednesday evening, scouts gathered at the Lincoln IGA for the annual
rub-a-dub of select cuts of pork. The meat was treated with a pork
seasoning blend then set to rest in the coolers at IGA until smoke
day.
For those who have never tried it, the meal includes a pulled pork
sandwich, baked beans, potato salad, coleslaw and beverage. A
selection of desserts, many homemade and prepared by troop members
and parents, tops off the meal. For those not interested in BBQ,
there is also a hot dog meal option.
Tickets are available at the door.
