On Saturday evening, 22 Hartsburg-Emden High School juniors and seniors participated in the annual Prom Grand March at the Hartem High School. This year, the prom, hosted by the Hartem Class of 2027 was themed “An Enchanting Night.” The prom grand march began at 5:30 p.m. After attendees were introduced, there was time allotted for mingling with guests and taking photos in the gymnasium before the group was expected to gather at the Hartsburg community building, where they would begin their enchanted evening.

Iran offers to end chokehold on Strait of Hormuz and asks US to end blockade, officials say

Earlier this year, some folks may have noticed that the blades had gone missing from the Mill on Route 66 Museum. Now they are back, new and better than ever. If you look closely at the outer frame of each blade you may see the little white bumps. Those are lights! At long last the blades have been replicated as they originally were with lights outlining each blade. And soon, the whole thing will turn slowly as it did back in the day.

The historically correct replication of the blades was paid for by Illinois Route 66 grant funds acquired by the Logan County Tourism Bureau. The tourism director, Wanda Lee Rohlfs, indicated at a recent Lincoln city council meeting that the motor of the blades will soon be wired in, and the LCTB is planning a 100th Anniversary Route 66 observance in June to celebrate the accomplishment and the birth of the historic route from Chicago to Los Angeles.
