On Saturday evening, more than 60 people attended the Blizzard Boogie Dance at the Lincoln Park District. The dance, hosted by Young Dance Inc., partnering with the Friends and Family Relay for Life team, was a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. A raffle for nine separate door prizes donated by local businesses, a 50-50 drawing and the sale of RFL Mystery Bags netted $780 for the American Cancer Society.

The hosts were happily surprised when the official Centennial Route 66 Ambassador East, Jessica Anderson arrived at the dance. Serving as the 2024-25 National Miss Route 66 and the 2025-26 Route 66 Ambassador, Anderson hails from Pekin and has visited Logan County on several occasions including visits to Atlanta, Elkhart, and most recently the Lincoln Christmas Parade.
